Our Commitment
PromptMaktaba is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
What We're Aiming For
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and create a better user experience for everyone.
Why Accessibility Matters
Accessible design helps people with disabilities, yes, but it also helps everyone: parents with their hands full, people with slow internet connections, users on small screens, and anyone who prefers keyboard navigation. When we build for accessibility, we build a better product for all.
Conformance Status
✅ Partially Conformant
PromptMaktaba is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, but we're actively working to address these issues.
What We've Achieved
- Semantic HTML: Proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3), landmarks, and ARIA labels
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed with Tab, Enter, and Escape keys
- Color contrast: Text meets WCAG AA standards (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Screen reader compatibility: Tested with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS)
- Responsive design: Works on devices from 320px to 1920px wide
- Form labels: All form inputs have clear, descriptive labels
How We Test
- Automated testing: axe-core and WAVE accessibility scanners (catches ~40% of issues)
- Manual testing: Screen reader testing, keyboard-only navigation, color contrast checks
- Lighthouse audits: Google Lighthouse accessibility score of 100 (target)
- Real-world feedback: User reports help us identify issues automated tools miss
Known Limitations
We're honest about where we fall short. Here are the accessibility issues we know about and are actively working to fix:
1. AI Prompt Enhancement Interface
Issue: The AI enhancement modal doesn't fully support screen readers when displaying real-time suggestions.
Timeline: Planned fix by Q1 2026 (adding ARIA live regions)
2. Drag-and-Drop Prompt Reordering
Issue: You can reorder prompts by dragging, but this isn't accessible via keyboard.
Workaround: Use the "Move Up/Down" buttons in the prompt menu (keyboard accessible)
Timeline: Full keyboard support planned for Q2 2026
3. Team Collaboration Features
Issue: Real-time collaboration (multiple users editing the same prompt) doesn't announce changes to screen reader users.
Timeline: Planned fix by Q3 2026 (adding ARIA announcements for collaborative edits)
4. Export to PDF Feature
Issue: Generated PDFs may not be fully accessible (missing tags, reading order issues).
Workaround: Use "Export to Markdown" or "Export to Plain Text" (fully accessible)
Timeline: PDF tagging improvements planned for Q4 2026

Our Response Commitment
We take accessibility feedback seriously. Here's what you can expect when you report an issue:
Acknowledgment (3 Business Days)
We'll email you confirming receipt of your report and assign it a tracking number.
Assessment (5 Business Days)
We'll investigate the issue, reproduce it, and determine severity (blocking vs. minor).
Action Plan (7 Business Days)
We'll share a timeline for fixing the issue (or explain why it can't be fixed).
Resolution & Follow-Up
Once fixed, we'll notify you and invite you to verify the solution works for you.
⚡ Critical Issues
If an issue completely blocks you from using PromptMaktaba (e.g., can't sign in, can't create prompts), we'll prioritize it and aim for a fix or workaround within 48 hours.
Alternative Access Methods
If you encounter a feature that isn't accessible, here are alternative ways to accomplish the same task:
